Description: An upright annual with mid-green, ovate to lanceolate foliage. Branched panicles of pendent, pale green, tubular, bell-shaped flowers are produced from midsummer into early autumn. Tobacco is not derived from this species, although Nicotiana langsdorffii is related to the true tobacco plant, N. tabacum.

The genus Nicotiana is named after Jean Nicot (1530-1600) who introduced tobacco into France.

Pendent, tubular, bell-shaped flowers are an unusual shade of yellowish-green. Flowers are produced on upright, branched panicles from July through September.
