Description: A small, Deciduous tree with a spreading habit. The branches are covered in neat, dark green leaves that ovate to oval in shape with finely toothed margins. Yellow male catkins are produced in mid to late spring and are followed by female flowers that will develop into hop-like Racemes of fruit enveloped by prominent Bracts. The leaves turn bright shades of red and orange in autumn before falling.

Yellow male catkins are produced in April and May and are followed by mid-green female flowers. The female flowers develop into racemes of green, hop-like fruit with prominent bracts.
