Description: A small, Deciduous tree with an upright, spreading habit. Glossy, dark green leaves are Elliptic to ovate in shape with toothed, wavy margins. Monoecious. Inconspicuous male and female flowers are separate but held on the same plant, and are produced in mid to late spring as the leaves emerge. Male flowers are held in round heads and the females are held in spikes. The flowers are followed by oval fruit.

Rare in cultivation.
