Description: A clump-forming Perennial with a mounded habit. The tuberous roots are fragrant and will spread slowly. The grey-green to mid-green leaves are heart-shaped and covered in fine hairs. Primrose yellow, saucer-shaped flowers have three round petals and three green sepals. The flowers are produced singly from late spring into early summer, and then sporadically afterwards.

The genus name Saruma is an anagram of Asarum, a type of ginger plant it is closely related to. The species name, henryi, is for Augustine Henry, a famous plant hunter.

Primrose yellow flowers are saucer-shaped with three rounded petals, three green sepals and a central cluster of golden stamens. The flowers are produced singly on the stems from May into June, and intermittently afterwards.
