Description: A clump-forming Perennial with three ovate to rounded leaves held in a whorl at the top of each stem. The leaves are dark green with maroon to brown mottling. Fragrant, cup-shaped flowers have three narrow, upright, green sepals and three upright petals that can either be white or maroon. The flowers are produced from early to mid-spring. The specimen at Malverleys has maroon flowers.

Fragrant, cup-shaped flowers have three, upright narrow petals and three green, upright sepals. The petals can be maroon or white. The flowers are produced one per stem in March and April.
