Description: A vigorous, clump-forming Perennial with three ovate to rounded leaves held in a whorl at the top of each stem. The leaves are dark green with maroon to brown mottling. Fragrant, cup-shaped flowers have three narrow, upright, green sepals and three upright petals that can either be white or shades of maroon. The flowers are produced from early to mid-spring. The specimen at Malverleys has maroon flowers. Trillium chloropetalum var. giganteum is similar to Trillium chloropetalum but has larger features.

Flower:
Fragrant, cup-shaped flowers have three, upright, narrow petals and three green, upright sepals. The petals can be in shades of maroon or white. The flowers are produced one per stem in March and April.
