Description: An aromatic Perennial with tall, upright stems. Glossy mid-green leaves are ovate in shape and have finely toothed margins. Intense violet-purple, tubular 2-lipped flowers have nearly black calyces. The Blooms are held in whorls and produced from early summer into mid-autumn, possibly longer in mild weather. Attractive to bees and butterflies, and excellent for use as cut flowers.

Deep violet-purple, tubular 2-lipped flowers have deep purple (nearly black) calyces. The blooms are held in whorls and are produced from June into October, possibly longer.
