Description: A low-growing, mat-forming Perennial with fleshy, upright stems. Deep reddish-purple leaves are biternate with oblong to ovate, lobed leaflets. Slender, mauve-blue, tubular flowers have white centres and are lightly scented. The Blooms are held in upright Racemes (Beth Chatto likened these groupings to shoals of fish- see note) and are produced, prolifically in late spring and early summer. The plant may go Dormant during the summer months.

Flower:

Spurred, slender tubular flowers are mauve-blue with white petals at the centre. The blooms are held in upright racemes and are produced in May and June.
