Description: A herbaceous Perennial with a clump-forming, upright habit. Pinnate leaves with narrowly oval to lanceolate leaflets emerge deep red in spring before turning to glossy dark green with age. Large, double bowl-shaped flowers are deep, rich red and develop hints of purple-magenta as they develop. Each Bloom has a central cluster of golden stamens. The flowers are held singly atop upright stems and are produced from early summer through midsummer. The Blooms are fragrant and excellent for use as cut flowers. Attractive to pollinating insects.
Large double bowl-shaped flowers are deep maroon-red and develop purple-magenta hues with age. The flowers are fragrant and each bloom shows a central cluster of golden stamens once open. Each blossom can reach to 15cm across. The flowers are held singly on upright stems and are produced in June and July.
