Description: A herbaceous Perennial with a clump-forming and upright habit. Ovate to lanceolate-shaped leaves emerge nearly black in spring before turning to deep green with age. Salverform flowers are a vibrant shade of scarlet-pink. The Blooms are held in panicles on vertical stems and are produced from midsummer into early autumn. The scented Blooms are attractive to pollinating insects and good for use as cut flowers.

Many believe Phlox paniculata 'Starfire' to be synonymous with P. p. 'Logan Black'.
