Description: A herbaceous Perennial with an upright habit. Mid-green leaves are palmately lobed with coarsely toothed margins. Semi-double bowl-shaped flowers are a shade of rich cobalt blue with black centres (bees). The Blooms are held in tall, vertical Racemes and are produced from early into midsummer. The flowers are attractive to pollinating insects and excellent for cutting. 'Carl Topping' is extremely rare in cultivation.

Semi-double, bowl-shaped flowers are deep cobalt blue with black centres (bees). The blooms are held in tall, vertical racemes and are produced in June and July.
