Description: A clump-forming herbaceous Perennial with a mound-forming habit and upright stems. Blue-green to grey-green leaves are linear to lanceolate in shape. Saucer-shaped flowers with heavily fringed petals vary in colour from white to shades of pink, red and pale purple, and often have a different colour Eye. The Blooms are held singly or in small clusters atop upright stems and are produced from late spring into early summer (possibly longer with regular deadheading). The flowers have a wonderful, intense fragrance and are attractive to pollinating insects. Excellent for use as cut flowers.

Flower:

Heavily fringed, saucer-shaped flowers vary in colour from white, pink, red or pale purple. The blooms usually have a different colour eye and are bicoloured. The blooms are held singly or in small clusters atop upright stems and are produced in May and June (possibly longer with deadheading). Dianthus 'Rainbow Loveliness' is quite often grown for its wonderful, intense fragrance.
