Description: A low-growing, delicate-looking herbaceous Perennial with a clump-forming habit. Rounded to kidney-shaped (reniform) leaves with jagged margins emerge purple and turn blue-green with age. Small bowl-shaped flowers are a pale shade of lavender or white. The Blooms are held singly atop upright stems and are produced in early to mid-spring before the leaves have unfurled. The genus Jeffersonia is named for Thomas Jefferson, the third American president and keen gardener who owned Monticello.
