Description: A large Deciduous tree with a broadly columnar habit. Bright mid-green leaves are rounded to heart-shaped with pointed tips and finely toothed margins. Small pale yellow flowers are star-shaped with showy, long stamens. The Blooms are held in small clusters that are subtended by a long narrow, silvery-green Bract. The Blooms have a powerful, sweet fragrance and are produced in midsummer. The flowers are attractive to pollinating insects and are followed by round woody, brown seed Capsules. The leaves turn yellow in autumn before falling. The tree will produce many suckers from the base.
