Flower:
Pale orange buds open to pale yellow, tubular flowers with long, protruding stamens. The blooms are held in dense spikes atop thick, vertical stems and are held above the foliage. The flower spikes open from the base and usually have both yellow and orange flowers simultaneously. The flowers are produced in June.
