Description: A medium-sized Deciduous Shrub with an upright, bushy habit. Narrow, leathery mid to dark green leaves are linear to lanceolate in shape with finely toothed margins. Small greenish-purple flowers are held in Cymes and produced from late spring into early summer. The flowers are followed by bright orange, Berry-like arils, and pink and green fruit with five (or six) points, resembling a jester's cap. The fruit persists on the plant well into autumn. This plant is usually grown for the showy fruit, not necessarily the flowers. The leaves turn vibrant shades of orange and red before falling in autumn.

Flower:

Small greenish-purple flowers are held in cymes and produced in May and June. The flowers are followed by bright orange arils and pink and green fruit with five (or six) winged points, and is often described as resembing a jester's cap. The fruit is retained on the plant well into autumn.
