The leaflets emerge bright pink in spring and develop to mid-green with broad, irregular pink variegation around the margins that turns white in summer. Dioecious (male and female flowers are held on separate plants). Small, yellowish-green flowers are held in Corymbs and produced from early to mid-spring.
