Description: Early-flowering Clematis

A climber with slender, brittle twining stems. Mid to dark green leaves are pinnate and have ovate to lanceolate leaflets with coarsely toothed margins. Nodding, double flowers are a rich shade of violet-blue. The Blooms are bell to cup-shaped with relatively narrow, pointed petals. The flowers are held singly along the stems and are produced in late spring through early summer, and often again (though sparsely) in late summer.
