Description: Sieboldiana Group

A clump-forming, herbaceous Perennial that forms a dense mound of basal foliage. Very large, corrugated leaves are ovate to heart-shaped and variegated. The leaves are rich blue-green with prominent, greenish-yellow bands around the margins which will turn to golden yellow with age. White, tubular bell-shaped flowers are held in Racemes well above the foliage from early into mid-summer. Good for use as cut flowers and attractive to pollinating insects. This plant is mainly grown for the effect of the foliage.

Flower:

Tubular bell-shaped flowers are white. The blooms are held in racemes (to 70cm in height) well above the foliage and are produced in June.

Foliage:

Large, corrugated leaves are Cordate to ovate in shape. The glaucous leaves have rich blue-green centres and irregular, thick, greenish-yellow bands around the margins. The margins are pale green when the leaves emerge in spring and turn to golden yellow with age. The foliage is held in impressive basal mounds.
