Description: Small to medium-sized, Deciduous, coniferous tree with a pyramidal habit and ascending branches. Soft, bright golden yellow needles are linear and held on branchlets and give the tree a feathery texture. The leaves turn coppery-bronze in autumn before falling. This tree is monoecious and will produce deep brown male cones in pendent Racemes. Female cones are paler brown and egg-shaped.

The true cultivar name is 'Golden Oji', 'Gold Rush' is a trademark name and more commonly used.

Soft, bright golden yellow needles are linear in shape and held in opposite pairs on branchlets. The branchlets are held on ascending branches and turn coppery-bronze in autumn before falling.
