Description: Large, Deciduous, suckering Shrub with a bushy, upright habit. The striking foliage is silvery-green and ovate to lanceolate in shape. Highly fragrant, tubular flowers are produced in clusters from early to midsummer and are followed by round, yellow fruit. Elaeagnus 'Quicksilver' is thought to be a hybrid of E. angustifolia and E. commutata.

Clusters of small, tubular flowers that are cruciform to star-shaped when fully open are produced in June and July. The butter-yellow flowers are inconspicuous, but have a powerful fragrance. Round, yellow-green fruit is produced in the autumn.
