Description: A medium-sized Deciduous, coniferous tree with an upright habit. Stiff, upright branches are adorned with distinctive, pretty, fan-shaped leaves that are bright green. Green, male catkin-like strobili are produced in mid-spring. The leaves turn a bright shade of golden yellow in autumn before falling. Slow growing.

Ginkgo biloba is dioecious, and G. b. 'Fastigiata' is a male cultivar. Pendulous, yellowish-green, catkin-like structures (strobili) are produced in clusters in March and April.
