A clump-forming herbaceous Perennial that forms a dense mound of basal foliage. Smooth, waxy leaves are ovate to heart-shaped. The leaves are a rich shade of blue-green with subtle, pale veining on each leaf. Pale lavender, tubular bell-shaped flowers are held in Racemes well above the foliage and are produced from mid to late summer. Excellent for use as cut flowers and attractive to pollinating insects. This plant is mainly grown for the effect of the foliage.

Tubular bell-shaped flowers are a shade of soft lavender. The blooms are held in upright racemes (to 70cm in height) well above the foliage and are produced in July and August.

Foliage:

Handsome, lightly corrugated, glaucous, blue-grey leaves are ovate to Cordate in shape. The foliage sometimes develops more green shades in the summer if conditions are warm and bright. The foliage is held in neat basal mounds.
