Description: A striking, clump-forming herbaceous Perennial with very large, palmately lobed leaves that are deeply toothed at the margins. Leaves are deep purple-red when young and slowly fade to dark green, though remain red on the undersides for longer. Long panicles of bright pink, star-shaped flowers produced on tall stems tower above the foliage in early summer.

Exceptionally large palmately lobed leaves with deeply toothed margins emerge from deep red buds in the spring. Young leaves emerge deep red-purple and slowly fade to dark green, but retain the red colour on the undersides of the leaves for longer. The leaves are mostly held in impressive basal mounds with fewer, slightly smaller leaves Alternately arranged on the flowering stems.
