Description: A medium-sized, Deciduous conifer with an upright, conical habit. Soft, bright green, linear needles are produced in rosettes on the shorter, old growth and are spirally arranged on the longer, young growth. Male and female cones are produced on the same plant. The male catkin-like structures are in clusters and the spikey female cones are green when young, brown at maturity, which happens in the first year. The female cones drop as soon as the seed is ripe. The seeds are white, and rarely fertile. This conifer is known for its brilliant golden autumn colour. Slow growing.
