Description: (State Series) Clump-forming herbaceous Perennial with an upright habit and lobed, mid-green, ternate foliage. Outward facing flowers have golden yellow stamens at the centre of five white petals which are surrounded by five rich deep red sepals. The flowers also have deep red spurs at the back which are curved and tubular. The name of this plant is derived from the latin word 'aquila' meaning eagle. This is in reference to the spurs which are meant to resemble the claws of an eagle. Flowers are produced in late spring into early summer.

Flowers are comprised of golden-yellow stamens at the centre of five white petals that are surrounded by deep red sepals. Flowers have curved, tubular spurs at the back and are produced on upright stems in May and June.
