Description: Spreading, rhizomatous Perennial with tall stems and grey-green, palmately lobed leaves. Wispy panicles of small, buff to pink flowers are produced in summer and are followed by small orange seed Capsules. Both the seed Capsules and the foliage are excellent for cutting.

Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

The genus Macleaya is named for Alexander Macleay (1767-1848) who was a secretary for the Linnean Society and later a prominent member of the Sydney Botanic Garden.

Flower:

Buff to pale pink apetalous flowers are held in wispy panicles and are produced from June through August. The flowers are followed by attractive, small orange seed capsules.
